Milo and Kate is Not Lionhead’s Only Project Natal Game

Filed under: Gaming News and Reportage 1 comment

When Lionhead Studios and Microsoft Game Studios unveiled Milo & Kate at E3 2009 in collaboration with their reveal of their hands-free motion controller Project Natal, it simultaneously caused a furore and belittled the idea of celebrities ever looking normally playing games. Shortly before the smoke-and-mirrors stories of Milo being a fraud AI, Creative Director of MGS Europe Peter Molyneux announced Fable III at Gamescom 2009 and is currently gathering feedback on the same. Rumours are also running rampant of a third Lionhead Studios game, where the company is looking for some one to “develop and maintain network code”.

Assassin’s Creed 2 DLC Review: Battle of Forli & Bonfire of Vanities

Filed under: Game Reviews and Opinion No comment

By gSathe

Assassin’s Creed 2 offered a far superior experience than the original game, and Ubisoft Montreal improved the fundamental aspects in lots of subtle ways. However, one of the biggest changes, and in my opinion, one of the biggest improvements, was in the change of protagonist and setting.

Budget Announcement and Gaming

Filed under: Gaming News and Reportage 1 comment

Those of you reading this in India probably know that the Budget is being announced today, and one little update we noticed is that the customs duty on games and music software has been rationalised.

What does this mean for you? Cheaper games, maybe, though we’re still looking for more details on this one, and will update the post as soon as we’ve waded through all the details on the budget out there, so that you don’t have to!

UPDATE: Okay, two hours down the line, we’ve managed to finally track down the part of the announcement we were looking for. The customs dues are now down and so possibly prices should come down a little, though how much is not as clear yet. We’ve written to everybody who distributes the games to ask them what will happen next, and will update this space as soon as we know. In other news, cars are more expensive, which is fine because cellphones and toys are cheaper and I’m a lot more likely to buy one of those than a car!

Itagaki Finally Settles Dues With Tecmo

Filed under: Gaming News and Reportage No comment

Former Team Ninja boss and acclaimed creator of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden Tomonobu Itagaki seems to have finally settled with Tecmo. In June 2008, he had demanded unpaid compensation and damages for comments made against him by now former Tecmo CEO Yoshimi Yasuda. No details of the settlement were revealed, but Itagaki was satisfied and asked fans to wait for his next new release, which would supposedly have “world class entertainment” and “greater depth of play than before”.

What exactly does he mean by “than before”? We can assume he’s comparing his next title to past efforts. Or just that he’s really happy to be back. Either way, it’s good to see that Itagaki finally got his happy ending (yes, I just did).

7 Things We Thought Should Change About Halo…That Actually Did With Reach

Almost a year and a half ago, we posted an article “Things That Should Change About Halo”. This was before any real information about Halo: Reach was ever known – even the fact that it was being developed after Halo 3’s release. Somewhat remarkably, almost everything that we thought, as purely our opinion, that should change about Halo has been incorporated into Reach. Coincidence? We honestly have no clue, but here are 5 things we thought should about Halo that actually did with each new detail of Halo: Reach revealed.

Top 6 Playstation 3 Games Sony Should Remake/Reboot

By Ravi Sinha

When you’ve been in any entertainment sector long enough (save music but who’s given it a shot yet), you officially earned the right to remakes and reboots – also called the right to “Do whatever the F*** I want, because it’s awesome!” Much hullabaloo has been made over Square-Enix’s pinballing desires to remake Final Fantasy VII, with their latest condition that they’d actually do it…if they could finish it in a year and possibly freeze Hell, with some Sahara Desert on the side.

But there are plenty of Playstation 3 titles this generation that haven’t gone over well, could have been better or be taken in exciting new directions. Here’s our top 6 Playstation 3 games that Sony should reboot or remake, either for this generation or the next.
