Rumour: More Bungie Halo Games After Halo Reach?
Filed under: Gaming News and Reportage 16 ResponsesBy Nike Okami
Whether or not you believe HipHopGamer on Bungie Studios announcing a PS3 exclusive in 2010 (and without a lick of evidence or sane reason, no one blames you if you don’t), there’s no denying the developer’s busy. Working across multiple unannounced projects, it’s safe to assume the studio is devoting different teams to different tasks, and this presents the question: What exactly are the Halo stalwarts working on?
Allen Murray, Producer at Bungie Studios, has worked on Halo titles for more than 4 years. He’s been involved in every piece of Halo content since then. This includes all the expansions packs, map packs, Halo 3: ODST and the upcoming Halo: Reach. Just recently, this listing was discovered:
Yes, Bungie said Reach would be their last Halo title. But isn’t it conspicuous – and pretty damn weird – to have been producer for “other fine video game wares” from Bungie and list nothing but Halo content (not that they’ve made anything major aside from all teh Haloz)? Hell, this could even be DLC or extra maps for Reach. Whatever the case, despite all rumours, moving on from Halo for Bungie is like moving on from Mario for Nintendo. It’s just never that simple. If this is a new Halo, maybe Bungie will serve to provide the much needed resolution missing from the end of Halo 3, rather than expanding on the franchise with side-stories and prequels.

Hopefully they make Halo 4 for us. I really want to keep on Halo-ing I think the story is great and shouldnt be stopped.
I agree with brother. I’m a huge Halo fan and don’t mind the flood of games and various other media based on said franchise. As long as the quality doesn’t drop (which it shouldn’t, it’s Bungie) I have no problems. They know what the fans want and I for one, want more.
Well. It will be good if Master Chief Cross over to PS3>>> Cool.
Found a new HALO Mission
Doesn’t have to be titled “Halo” if there are no “Halo” rings on whatever planet that was that we saw when you finish the game on Legendary.
hip hop gamer is a retarded ps3 fanboy & we all know that Gearbox is gonna be making Halo 4. If anyone payed attention to when the Gearbox devs talked at E3 they said they have a “secret project”. MSFT also has mentioned them as who could possibly make the game. Now as for Halo on the ps3…will never happen as for MSFT owns the Halo name…bungie can’t do shit with it.
It’s been confirmed a new, non-Halo original property is the next project from Bungie after Reach, so there you (probably) go. They were still looking for a publisher as of a few months ago.
Halo 4 is being done right now, as an Xbox Next title, by Microsoft’s 343 Industries, by the way.
First of all I never said it was a ps3 exclusive I just stated that it will be on ps3. during the video i said that it was supposedly gonna be a multi-platform release which makes sense anyway but you know what we’ll see, I’ve been right alot and I’ve been wrong at times so I stand by my words and info that I dig up so we’ll see how this goes. 1luv and god bless peace
Sorry ps3 fanboys… Microsoft owns the Halo brand… forget it… move back over to killzone2 and have ‘fun’ with that instead. If ya a sonyfanboy and want to play Halo…. there’s a simple solution… just buy an Xbox… they’re dirt cheap now and there’s some awesome packages out there to get you started.
Bring on Halo:Reach
Bungie already has several great IPs that are not Halo: Myth, Marathon, Oni and the fake Pimps at sea.
They can work on any of these, or a completely new IP.
hip hop gamer is quite possibly the worst website in the face of gaming history, run by a complete arsehole desperate who is so desparate for recognition that he continually makes ridiculous and stupid comments on the industry which are 99% of the time totally made up or just his own personal opinion. I hate it when his site pops up on n4g.com and any gamer worth his salt knows not to bother reading.
@HHG:
Whether you said first PS3 title, or first PS3 exclusive, the point Nike was trying to make is that whatever you say can’t be trusted. If it comes true, you say you called it first through your little “news” items, and when it doesn’t, you say it was just your opinion. That’s how you justified all those failed stories such as the Splinter Cell Conviction demo coming with Assassin’s Creed 2, DLC for Final Fantasy XIII, Modern Warfare 2 being exclusive to the 360, etc. on top of all the flamebait you usually put out. If you want to sugarcoat it by saying “wrong at times”, that’s your conscience to worry about and no one will be bothered when the facts are staring them in the face. One of them being you’re not a credible source.
And for all of your “Bungie will do this, that”, you gave no evidence of the same on your show last week, so they could be releasing a QTE game on shooting squirrels next year for all we know. At least Nike presented some evidence of the Halo team at Bungie currently involved in something, even if we don’t know what it is.
To grow, a developer needs to move on and create something new and exciting. Leaving the Halo series behind is a good thing. It was getting washed down anyways. Get off the Halo wagon while you can, bungie.
it could be considered the halo movie:
unannounced because it’s very wishy-washy when they’re even going to start producing it, but we all know it’s going to happen eventually.
HipHopGamer said that assassins creed 2 would come with a splinter cell conviction demo….nuff said
X-box does not own Halo. At any rate, Halo owns X-box
As it’s been stated, HipHop made the point of plugging a major , super special secret exclusive reveal on his “site”: the elusive Splinter Cell demo with AC2. Yeah. His site should be considered bunk from now on, if it wasn’t already. Research, facts and HipHopGamer are not acquainted that well.
