Fidget Scores Again: 1st Girl Gamer to Get 1000 Win-Streak in World at War

Lanai Gara or Fidget, the #1 Call of Duty: World at War player in Free-for-All and one of the newest additions to Ubisoft’s all-girl pro gaming panel The Frag Dolls, has visited us in our dreams (and headlines) before. Now she returns, this time with an even more hard-won achievement: Being the first girl gamer in the world to score 1000 straight wins in Call of Duty: World at War and being the second overall person in the world achieve the same.

As she states on her blog: “Now you might be thinking there is no way that you can get 1000 wins in a row, on any game, which is correct…I did get the occasional second place and of course that consisted of me throwing my controller down and yelling at my TV screen, but I did keep going. The way the win streaks work with Call of Duty: World at War is when you do get 1st place, it counts as a win of course, but when you get 2nd or 3rd it doesn’t end your win streak, but it does count as a loss. So now for the past 1000 or so games I have not ever gotten 4th place and came in first place consistently for over 1000 games.”

How long did it take her to reach this pinnacle? Try “over 28 days of game play” (which she states is “nowhere near the most even in the top ten”). While it may seem easy according to World at War’s system of tracking win streaks in FFA – which differs in other modes including Team Deathmatch, where losing once ends your streak – “It is very hard to continue this streak especially when you are put into random games that have already been played for a while before you enter because if the game ends before you reach 3rd place you lose your streak too”. Aside from her latest achievement, Fidget, “also compiled over 6000 wins in FFA and a win loss ratio over a 5.14, which is the highest in the top 65 players in FFA.”

What’s on the cards next for this wonder gal? “Time to soak my sore hands, make a new goal and break it”. That wouldn’t happen to start with a “Modern Warfare 2” and end with a “total pwnage”, now would it?

I couldn’t even play 1000 in matchmaking because it’s so unbalanced. I’ll stick to zombie mode until MW2.

I would like to know what setup she uses

Good effort, I suppose. You usually start on free-for-all when you’re low leveled and then move to the objective based games as your skills improve, so it comes to no surprise that after over 20 days of gaming you’re easily beating the noobs in FFA. Detracts from the feat slightly. Sort of like if I kept repeating 4th Grade and continually topped the class in the maths test.

Who cares?
