god of warKratos, the vengeful Spartan of Greek mythology past, is as angry as ever. Not to forget powerful, though in less of a Bruce Banner way. With a strong focus on the moon pale Ghost of Sparta, the God of War series has also carried a strong pedigree of stellar voice acting. Be it the douche bag Zeus or the noble Athena, each and every leading character has been backed by as capable a voice actor. And it looks Sony’s mega opus God of War III is getting three more.

zeus

Michael Clarke Duncan (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, The Green Mile) and Corey Burton (Transformers Animated, Kingdom Hearts) returns to reprise their roles as Atlas the Titan and Zeus, respectively. Linda Hunt (Carnivale) also returns as Gaia and the encompassing Narrator of the saga along with Gideon Emery as Poseidon and Erin Torpey as Athena. Last but not least is Terrence T.C. Carson, who will reprise his role as Kratos once more.

They’re joined by fight director and actor Mark Deklin, who also voiced Call of Duty 3′s Major Gerald Ingram. Deklin will be voicing the son of Ares and the God of Dread, Deimos (also the twin brother of Phobos, the God of Fear). He’s credited with appearing in God of War: Chain of Olympus but is conspicuously absent from the PSP game.

Hera

Adrienne Barbeau will be voicing a goddess mentioned only in passing till now: The elder sister and wife of Zeus, Hera who also happens to be the Goddess of Women and Ares’ mother. Kratos was framed for the murder of Hera’s pet Argos in an attempt to destroy his reputation amongst his Olympian peers in God of War: Betrayal. Perhaps she could be a boss this time around? She’s probably most famous among geeks for her role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the 90′s Batman: The Animated Series.

pandora

Natalie Lander has been seen (or heard) in 2009′s Dissidia: Final Fantasy for the PSP as Terra. She also voiced Kisala in Level 5′s Rogue Galaxy (Playstation 2) and the Lady of the Lake in Shrek the Third. This time around, she lands something much more meatier. With a temple and box to her name, she was the first woman and the one who aided Kratos the most in defeating Ares. That’s right: Pandora is making her first ever series’ appearance in the final God of War game.

(Please note that images of Pandora and Hera taken from Google, not from God of War III, though we pray that they may look half, if not twice, as hot)

My good JC, if there’s something I’ve learned from mythology is that goddesses are ALWAYS hot.

Anyway, I can’t wait to play this game. It looks simply AWESOME!!! Thanks for the news. ^^

OMG! I’m just glad that Atlus will be in this one! I hope the Titans don’t get smashed by Kratos – though they most likely will die as well. *sigh* The Titans are awesome, way better than the Gods.
