Splinter Cell Movie Script, Penned by G.I. Joe and Gears of War Film Writer

Remember that Splinter Cell movie from Paramount Pictures? The project was put on hold after transferring over to Dreamworks and then Viacom, Paramount’s parent company, purchased Dreamworks further adding to the muddle. The Splinter Cell movie script, like all things magical, is already available for public viewing on the net but an interesting detail to crop up: This text was penned not by series scriptwriter J.T. Perry but none other than Stuart Beattie. Yes, the same Beattie who’s a part of the weapon of mass mindfuck G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The same man who’s worked on Pirates of the Caribbean, Australia and Collateral besides contributing to the upcoming Gears of War flick.
There’s not really much to say about a simple script – it’s like looking at a bag of a cement for criticizing a skyscraper. However, if this was meant to be a blueprint for an upcoming blockbuster based on a video game, you’d expect better guiding lines than, “he almost smiles at Sadiq the way Caeser might have smiled at Brutus. And it scares the living shit out of young Sadiq” (emphasis included). Three lighted night vision goggles and bitter government abandonment are thrown in to maintain the Splinter Cell “sheen”. Nonetheless, read the script and judge for thyself.
