Rare’s Unannounced Project: Microsoft’s Surprise Reveal for Comic-Con?
Filed under: Game Reviews and Opinion, Gaming News and Reportage 9 Responses
Remember Microsoft’s announcement about showing off an “exciting unannounced project” at Comic-Con on July 23rd? How the attendees would get a look at a “new, exciting unannounced project from one of our top franchises”? The funny thing is that each of the games being showcased – Halo 3: ODST, Left4Dead2, Alan Wake, Shadow Complex, etc. – all put in an appearance at E3 2009. The only Microsoft developer missing oh so conspicuously? Rare. Which would make indicators of this “unannounced project” belonging to the Rare stable even stronger. But that’s not all.
Gavin Price, Principal Designer at Rare Ltd./Microsoft Game Studios, is working on an “as yet unannounced project” from January 2009 till now.

January 2009 — Present (7 months)Following a reshuffle at Rare, I’ve taken on further responsibility in a new principal designer role on a very exciting new project.
Price also worked on Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. So it’s unlikely it’s a brand new title in that franchise. Could we finally see the re-emergence of Perfect Dark? Or even Killer Instinct? Maybe even Kameo? How about Jet Force Gemini? Meanwhile, we pray Grabbed by the Ghoulies 2 most definitely doesn’t happen.

We can only hope it’s Conker.
Conker would be awesome. But only if it went back to the N64 days. Not the censored piece of crap they put out for the Xbox.
I’m still hoping for a goldeneye remake.
please please bring back conker. like jason said though. the xbox re release was crap compared to the original
I know the answer is pretty obvious and not very revealing (sorry) but I did leave a clue (as to what i’m working on) in my post above.

Yes, not very revealing but we’ll take what we can get. Thanks for the hint.
