Electronic Arts to Publish Realtime Worlds’ APB, First Trailer Revealed

apbAll Points Bulletin, developed by Crackdown developer Realtime Worlds and GTA creator Dave Jones, has been a major talking point due to it’s faux Grand Theft Auto MMO mechanics. So much so that rumours flew around about the developer selling it to Rockstar Games to fashion as a GTA online edition (despite the denial of the developer). However, amidst news of their reacquirign the global distribution rights for APB, Electronic Arts’ E3 2009 conference laid rest to all doubts. That’s right: APB will be published by Electronic Arts. While the PC platform was Realtime Worlds’ biggest priority developing the game, EA’s stepping in to publish the game could herald some changes. Like maybe, say, simultaneous releases on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 with a latter release on the PC (akin to Mirror’s Edge, for example)? We’ll find out soon enough, but console owners can at least be assured of experiencing APB. You can check out the first trailer here.
