There is no more of a contest between God Of War and Gears Of War as there is between men and maggots (Gears obviously being the maggots, only even worse).

While i wouldn’t go as far as to say nothing can compare to God Of War 3’s graphics (I’m thinking Uncharted: Among Thieves, Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy Versus XIII) it would certainly wipe the floor with the 360 counterpart. However, as has already been stated, God Of war 3 is due out in 2009, David Jaffe is working on a different project scheduled for “Early 2010″.

So that means that while Sony will completely dominate 2009 Microsoft could take 2010 unchallenged, right? Wrong! Leaving the fact that Gears Of War 3 may well go multi – platform aside Sony have some killer exclusives themselves lined up for a possible (Likely) 2010 release:

Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Assuming it doesn’t come out next year)

LittleBigPlanet 2 (Media Molecule have confirmed work on the sequel has already begun)

Resistance 3 (On a side note, this is a MUCH better trilogy than Gears Of War could ever be)

Motrostorm (Untitled)

Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier (Naughty Dog may not be able to release it in 2009 due to the development needed for Uncharted 2)

Microsoft have no games coming out for roughly 2 years and when they DO come out they will be completely overshadowed by the PS3’s unparalleled quality of software.

Microsoft are in big trouble (Even without the fact that there’s also a PS3 price cut coming next year).

Well, I think you should rather compare Gears 3 with Quantum Therory, since Quantum Theory is called the “Japanese Gears”, and is a Sony exclusive. Also, something some people have forgotten is the very high odds of Gears 3 going multi-platform!

I think many of you are taking this article in the wrong way, so let me state three points:

1. Any two exclusive titles are bound to be in competition with one another when released around the same time, no matter their genres. Ocarina of Time versus Metal Gear Solid, LBP versus Gears 2 and so on.

2. I do not state ANY WHERE that either game is better than the other.

3. The assumptions made are based on statements and rumours already known. Either you like analysis or don’t; either it’s wrong or it’s not. You don’t have to like it, and I don’t say I’m totally right. Everybody wins.

Well, according to Almighty Google, the #1 search result for GOW is Gears of War (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=VAa&q=GOW&btnG=Search). God of War doesn’t make an appearance until the third page.

So I don’t know why you would bother 1. using that abbreviation and 2. using it to refer to God of War.
