Splinter Cell Voice Actor Injured in Mumbai Attacks

Filed under: Gaming News and Reportage No Responses

The Mumbai terrorist incident is in danger of eclipsing the two day mark, and we’re seeing ripples of the tragedy in every sphere of life. Splinter Cell voice actor (not the voice of Sam Fisher) Michael Rudder, for instance, suffered bullet wounds at the hands of the terrorists. Fortunately, despite three bullets hitting him, Rudder was rushed to the hospital and underwent a successful surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery. Rudder was dining at the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai, one of two locations the terrorists have laid siege to, when he was shot at.

Grand Theft Auto IV being pushed back in its PC release date was only one tremor created by this incident. Claiming to be the next big market of technology, economic growth and much less, gaming, becomes a whole lot harder when we can’t even protect our guests, much less our citizens. Hopefully, Rudder will take the fact that, after lending his voice to a terrorist-killing game, terrorists attacked him in good humour. We wish him a speedy recovery in the mean time.
