Despite having received middling reviews almost universally, LucasArts latest Star Wars offering, The Force Unleashed, has now crossed the 1 million mark according to preliminary reports up on VG Chartz.

The game, which released on September 16th, has been panned by many critics for not delivering consistent and well thought out gameplay, but we’ve just started to play it and our sense of the game is that it’s more a victim of its own hype. Yes, after playing as Darth Vader becoming a newbie with no real powers does feel depressing, but that first section itself was just so cool.
