Mirror’s Edge System Specs Revealed

Filed under: Gaming News and Reportage One Response

mirror-s-edge.jpgLeipzig GC 2008 was a mixed bag of events but while Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) were ping-ponging conflicting reports on Mirror’s Edge being a “timed exclusive” for the PS3, a lesser advertised event by nVidia, nVision 2008, actually went several steps further with EA announcing the game’s system requirements.

The minimum system requirements were announced as:

  • Windows XP or Vista
  • CPU: Pentium 4 at 2.4 GHz/Athlon 64 2800+
  • RAM: 1GB
  • GPU: GeForce 6 Series with 256MB VRAM/ATI X1650 (or HD2400) or better

However, when you talk minimum requirements, scalability always varies from high-end rigs. Just how high-end are we talking? At the event, Mirror’s Edge ran smoothly and surly on an Alienware PC utilizing a Core 2 Duo E8500 processor at 3.12GHz, 3GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 260. The difference in performance hasn’t yet been put to the real test but hopefully, the game will be tweaked to be as playable as possible on the minimum specs.

All we have to do is have faith in EA. No joking.
