Dancing Grunts Don’t Lie: Red vs. Blue Returns

vi7H-x5Fv98In the words of a horribly deranged scientist abandoned by his personal Frankenstein years before and one day when he suddenly returns as a lean, mean, shinobi machine to break Satan in half with his insane jutsu: “Oh snap! Literally!”

Maybe not the same exact feeling, but attendees at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) 2008 were definitely surprised (and not in an N-Gage price reveal kind of way) when they discovered the new project of Rooster Teeth, creators of the insanely hilarious web-series Red vs. Blue. Instead of Machinima, the team has now moved onto Japanese 2D animation for its new Red vs. Blue. This looks to be a re-imagining of the entire saga, and not a sequel (the ending for the web-series was pretty, er… closed). A prequel, perhaps? Well, it sure looks pretty, despite the shaky hand-cam work.

For those skeptical, the series will still maintain its trademark humour, featuring many profound/unprintable plays on our modern language. And this time with dancing grunts (you know you’ve thought about it when you were alone).

Stay tuned for more details and impressions on PAX 2008 later this week.
