A day in the life of PACMAN

pacman.gif8 am: Good morning world! It’s a beautiful day in Pacland as usual. Think I’ll have a pacdot sandwich for breakfast. Mustn’t kill my appetite though. Have to “pac” in a lot of pacdots at work today. That’s quite funny. “Pac” in! Must remember to tell that to guys at work.

9.30 am: Pac-baby is getting older. At breakfast today, he said his first word . “Pac Pac!” I’m so proud of him. Pepper started crying. Pepper’s my wife. We met a long time ago , the typical office romance. I heard that a certain “Ms. Pacman” was joining and it was love at first sight. Of course, it wasn’t easy. The guys at work were all trying to woo her, chasing here, there and anywhere. But finally, she gave in. If you ask her about it now, she gives a standard reply, “It’s always been you, Packy. You ought to know that.” On my way to work now.

11.30 am: Have been sitting at my desk finishing up some paperwork. Munching on some pacdots to keep my strength up. Pac-baby sitting on my table, playing with something. It’s “Bring your kid to work” day here, which I love. The guys have been fooling around all morning, playing Peek-a-boo with Lil Pac. I can hear the bell now. Guess it’s time to get to work.

6 pm: That was three hours well-spent. After “pac”ing off Pac-baby to the nursery (Heh heh, “pac”ing ! I’m hilarious!), I headed down to the level I was working at today. Level 45. The guys were already there. Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde. They’re a riot. Always trying to frighten everyone around here. That’s how they earned the nickname “The Ghosts”. A regular bunch of pranksters. I love chilling with these guys. Of course, they’re the guys who keep me on my toes. Chasing me around the level making me collect pacdots as fast as possible.

Clyde’s the ring-leader. He’s dating someone called Sue. She comes to work once in a while. Pepper and Sue don’t get along at all. When Pepper used to work here, Sue and her would get into catfights all the time. Pepper, bless her heart, would also prevail. She doesn’t like being told what to do. Of course, Clyde and me don’t have such animosities. We understand it’s just a job. Work’s work, see. Besides, if you think you’re being pushed around too much, you can always “pac” in a power pellet. The ghosts always back off when you do. It’s an understood code of conduct around here.

Anyways, as usual, I managed to clean up the level in record time without once coming into contact with one of the Ghosts. Didn’t even need to go for a power pellet. Am quite pleased really.

9 pm: After work, me and the guys decided to go for a drink at the local Pac pub. That’s when I told them my “pac” joke. I had them rolling on the floor. The ghosts are quite good to tell jokes to. They always laugh. We spend a good amount of time sitting around and cracking more “pac” jokes. Pac-baby had Inky’s son, Inky Jr, for company and a couple of colas to keep him. When I got home, Pepper wasn’t too pleased. She doesn’t like me hanging out with The Ghosts, says they’re a bad influence. Women, eh? Anyways, it’s off to bed now. Tomorrow’s a new day!
