Raid addOns generally improve Raid performance. There are various mods which offer features such as main tank lists, raid warnings (messages which appear mid-screen for all raid members), voting mechanisms and boss status trackers. Another useful utility for raids are voice communication programs like Ventrilo or Teamspeak. Install them even if you have no mic - unless you’re the raid leader it’s not imperative that everybody can hear you.Some of the Raid Addons I use are…X-Perl - This addon gives icons on the bottom right of ur screen for all the members in all the groups so selecting targets becomes much more easy. This addon is very useful for healers as some raid bosses are scripted (very hard to kill) and multiple people might take damage apart from the tank and who would require heals.Damage Meters - Damage Meter’s shows the total amount of damage per second (DPS) and heals per second (HPS). It shows how much the DPS members of the group have done damage and how much healing is done by the priest’s or other healers of the party.
KLH Threat Meter - This Meter shows the total aggro of each of the party member. In a boss fight the Tank is supposed to have the highest amount of aggro and if your DPS is gaining on the tank’s aggro then one should slow down their DPS to prevent the boss attacking him/her or use spell’s like Feint in case of Rogues which highly reduces the threat generated.
Some Addons I use generally:Atlas - As the name suggests it gives a explored map of the World to the players showing all the major cities and instances which can be very useful for new players as they might not know where to go for an instance or a Quest.Atlas Loot - Atlas loot gives a complete description of the gear and recipies dropped by bosses in each and every instance which makes it easier for players as they know what they need from the boss.Quartz - It shows the a cast bar for every spell u cast and every spell your target cast’s which can be very usefull in PvP.
